At the occasion of the upcoming “Tag der Archive” several German archives open their doors to the public on the first weekend in march (3th-4th March 2012). This years motto is “Fire, Water, War and other Disasters”.
The program with exhibitions, guidances, workshops (f.e. on genealogy, deciphering old german handwriting) at the homepage of the Association of German Archivists (VdA) is searchable by date,  federal state or place.
