The retrospective national bibliographies “VD 16″ and “VD 17″ provide evidence of books published in the German speaking area of the 16th and 17th Centuries.
Designed initially as a printed catalogue, the online version increasingly offer references to digitized front pages and full texts. The data are searchable via online catalogues and library networks, f.e. the Karlsruhe Virtual Catalogue (KVK) and the Bavarian Library Network (BVB).
The follow-up-project VD 18 connects bibliographical description of prints of the 18th century and their digitization right from the start. The Halle University Library is testing a search interface.
