On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the erection of the Berlin Wall the Bundesstiftung zur Aufarbeitung der SED-Diktatur (Federal Foundation for the Reappraisal of the SED Dictatorship) has relaunched its Website. Within this framework approved research tools are presented anew to the public. The standard works „Who was who in the GDR” and the biographical dictionary of German Communists were made accessible in a database. A list of  links provides access to related information ressources and the publication series “Vademecum Contemporary History” can be downloaded for free.  After the fall of communist regimes in Central Eastern and Eastern Europe, these publications inform about archives and libraries, research institutions, museums, memorials and other institutions that deal with post-war history of these countries or collect documents and publications about it.
